Since only 17% of the entire land mass of Arizona is privately owned, that leaves 83% of open land owned by the State or Federal Government (public land). This land is usually leased for grazing cattle on by ranchers in the area. All of this equates to lots of open land, which is the best training area we could have for our young horses.
After selecting the best breeding stock we can for temperament, conformation, type, and athletic ability, we put them to the test inside and outside the arena, or as our trainer Ned Leigh says, "we just expand the arena to cover the Prescott National Forest." There we find out if all our effort will pay off. We believe that most any horse can be trained in the confines of an arena, but a truly great horse in mind, body and spirit will show us his courage in the wild and pristine wilderness that surrounds us. We pass this on to you, the buyers. After all, we really love our horses and wish the very best for them, but as my husband says, "we can't keep them all."
